  • Sending an equine veterinary team to provide veterinary aid free of charge
  • Sending donations of veterinary supplies as well as equine equipment such a tack, saddles, and farrier tools
  • Providing training and/or instruction in farrier techniques and hoof care
  • Providing training and/or instruction in teeth floating and equine dentistry
  • Providing guidance and assistance in proper equine care, treatment, and training

Requesting Assistance

In order to be considered for an Equis Now project, the requesting group or organization must meet the following criteria:
  1. Be located in a developing country and/or region
  2. Have a strong basis of community support and local partners willing to assist in the project
  3. Be able to clearly present the existing equine issue(s) that is burdening the local community, and be able to identify and present what actions need to be taken in order to resolve the problem(s). Also be able to able to outline the desired goals for the project and any possible means or recommendations on what both Equis Now and the local community can do to make those goals attainable.
  4. Clearly demonstrate how the assistance and educational efforts of Equis Now will positively benefit the community in both a short and long term fashion and be able to exhibit how community involvement will sustain equine wellbeing even after the Equis Now team has completed their time in the region.

Please write to info.equisnow@yahoo.com in order to obtain an official form to request veterinary and/or equine care assistance for your local community. The form will require information with regards to the organization that is requesting assistance, the kind of equine care that they are desiring to obtain, the goals that the organization hopes to accomplish with the help of Equis Now, any accomplishments or difficulties the applying organization has faced, and a list of local or national partnerships and allies that may be pertinent to the project. Additionally, it is beneficial to the Equis Now staff for the organization that is requesting assistance to include any information they know of with regards to their country's policies and procedures (such as licensing/permitting requirements) related to the involvement of a foreign veterinary care organization providing their services to the local community.

Equis Now accepts requests for veterinary and farrier assistance year round, but unfortunately we are unable to guarantee that we will be able to provide our help and services in every situation.
